YouTube in Russia may be blocked until the end of next week, possibly as early as today, a source close to Roskomnadzor told RIA Novosti.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, the corresponding decision was expected last week, but then it was decided to postpone it because of Instagram blocking.
On March 18, Roskomnadzor called the actions of the YouTube administration “terrorist ” due to the spread of threats against Russians and demanded that the service stop doing this. According to the regulator, we are talking about the fact that the YouTube video hosting broadcasts commercials with calls to disable railway communications of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
Instagram Facebook, Twitter and three major foreign social networks have already been blocked by the Russian authorities since the beginning of the “special operation” in Ukraine.
