Democratic senators have appealed to US President Joe Biden with a request to increase assistance to Ukraine and European allies in the field of cybersecurity, CNN reports, citing a letter from lawmakers that came under her order.
The lawmakers called on the Bureau of Cyber and Digital Policy of the State Department to strengthen cooperation with Kiev and European partners of the United States to combat the so-called “Russian hacker threat”. According to the senators, the US Cyber Command and the US Department of Homeland Security should also be involved in these tasks.
Earlier, the head of the Cyber Command, General Paul Nakasone, said at a hearing in the Senate of the US Congress that the United States was helping Ukraine strengthen its cybersecurity during a special military operation of the Russian Federation. According to him, the command responds promptly “to the current Russian-Ukrainian crisis.”
