The manufacturer of one of the most popular snacks in the UK, KP Snacks, was subjected to a cyberattack using extortionate software, as a result of which he had to suspend deliveries. According to ChronicleLive, the incident turned out to be very serious – the company’s IT systems were supposedly “erased”. Thus, across the UK, fans of Skips and Hula Hoops were left without their favorite treat.

The company was attacked by extortionate Conti software, often associated with hackers from Russia, and because of compromised systems, it cannot accept and process orders from stores.

KP Snacks was the victim of a cyberattack at the beginning of last month, but it seems that it still has not been able to restore the supply of its products to stores. The reaction of buyers did not take long to wait – they “bombard” social networks with complaints about stores and the manufacturer.

KP Snacks representatives assure that they are gradually restoring the systems, and production at seven factories has already been restored. The company even ordered a full-page advertisement in one of the popular British publications to apologize to its customers for the inconvenience caused.
