The Lapsus$ cybercrime group published screenshots of data allegedly stolen after gaining access to the Telegram messenger. Okta.com Superuser/Admin and other Okta computer systems.
Okta has analyzed screenshots depicting the alleged leak of its data and reported that they are related to a cyber incident that occurred in January 2022.
“At the end of January 2022, Okta discovered an attempt to compromise the account of a third-party support engineer working for one of our subcontractors. We believe that the screenshots posted on the Internet are related to this January incident. Based on our investigation, there is no evidence of ongoing malicious activity,” the company said.
Lapsus$ is known for extortion and threats of disclosure of confidential information. The group boasted of hacking Microsoft, Vodafone, Nvidia, Samsung, Ubisoft and other companies.
