The Mobile-Review publication reported that Google has stopped certifying smartphones of Russian manufacturers. The publication received such information from two companies from the Russian Federation engaged in the production of phones. The certification ban occurred due to the US Export Law prohibiting the transfer of technology to countries under sanctions.
The Mobile-Review clarified that due to the ban, Russian companies will not be able to produce Android-based phones, and Google will not support software such as Google Play, Google Pay, YouTube, for example. The option of complete disappearance of Android smartphones from other manufacturers from the Russian market is also possible, but only if Google refuses to certify all smartphones supplied to Russia.
According to the authors of the material, if a negative scenario is realized, then the market is waiting for parallel import and activation of phones outside of Russia.
