“On March 4, we announced our decision to discontinue customer service in Russia. After a thorough assessment of our activities over the past four weeks and consultations with our customers and partners around the world, we have decided to terminate all EPAM operations in this country,” the letter says.
“In accordance with the company’s business continuity plans, which were introduced in February 2022, EPAM is accelerating the transfer of its Russian operations through active relocation of employees. Currently, a significant number of employees have already moved outside the country,” the company noted.
According to the latest data, EPAM has offices in Russia in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Ryazan, Samara, Tver, Krasnodar, Tolyatti. The number of employees in them exceeds 6 thousand people.
EPAM’s clients in Russia were Renaissance-Capital, Troika-Dialog, Sberbank, Ingosstrakh, Rosgosstrakh, INTACH Insurance, Aviva, AlfaStrakhovanie, S7 Airlines, Aeroflot, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Rosenergoatom Concern, the Federal Tax Service of Russia and others.
Earlier, EPAM said that it stops working with Russian clients against the background of the military operation in Ukraine. The press release stated: “EPAM is committed to providing transitional support for customers in this market. EPAM does not work for the government in Russia and fully complies with all sanctions. The company is also actively evaluating its other activities in the region.”
At the same time, EPAM expects to continue working in Belarus, as well as implement specific plans to ensure business continuity in Belarus. The company also notes that the previously announced accelerated recruitment of employees in Europe, Central Asia, India and Latin America will further expand the geographical diversification of the global EPAM network.
