The launch of new orbital groupings will create an independent, “unkillable” satellite Internet in Russia. This was announced by the General director of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin at a meeting with deputies of the LDPR faction.
According to Rogozin, the launch of new orbital groupings will allow you to create your own Internet. He also added that the implementation of plans to launch new space equipment will provide Sevmorput with the necessary space services and create its own Internet by 2025.
Dmitry Rogozin: “A country must have — a country like ours – an independent, sovereign space Internet. Ground equipment should be as cheap as possible so that people can use it. Then we are invulnerable. And now we are under pressure in this area as well.”
At the same time, he noted that for Russian latitudes, where about 70% of the territory is permafrost, laying fiber is not very effective.
