According to him, special attention needs to be paid to neutralizing attempts by various radical forces to use the Internet, including to incite ethnic and social hostility.
“A reasonable measure here is to involve the mass media, civil society structures, and youth organizations in the prevention of extremism,” Medvedev said.
“This work has been going on, without any doubt, but it needs to be intensified as much as possible, since the number of various kinds of attacks on our country has increased not even a multiple, but a thousandfold,” the deputy chairman of the Security Council added.
An urgent problem is also the increase in the number of crimes using information and telecommunication technologies. Domestic companies suffer not only from sanctions, but also from cybercriminals. Quite a significant number of citizens are threatened with the loss of savings due to the actions of intruders, Medvedev said.
Earlier, Dmitry Peskov said about cyber attacks that “the Russian Federation, unlike many Western countries, including the United States, does not engage in banditry at the state level.”
