Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein announced the blocking of about 20 VPN services in Russia.

“To date, about two dozen popular VPNs in Russia have already been blocked. They will be blocked further,” he said.

Hinstein added that blocking a VPN is not an easy task, but it is performed by Roskomnadzor. The deputy also noted that all Russians who continue to use Instagram, “somehow use the routing bypass system on the network.”

Facebook instagrammed the issue in the context of discussing restrictions in Russia on social networks Instagram and Facebook of Meta company.
