In connection with the special operation on demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the company said that “life in Russia has gone awry.” Therefore, the provider decided to stop interacting with Russian customers
“We have decided to disconnect the network…> in Russia. We have not encountered any network disruptions at the moment, but given the uncertain situation…”We have taken this step for the sake of our own safety and the safety of the network’s customers, as well as to preserve the integrity of the global Internet network,” the statement said.
At the same time, the company notes that its presence in the Russian market was small. However, the American newspaper The Washington Post indicates that Rostelecom and Transtelecom were among Lumen’s clients in Russia.
Earlier, Cogent Communications, a leading American Internet data provider, severed ties with its Russian customers to prevent its networks from being used for propaganda or cyber attacks.
