An employee of the store of the American mobile operator T-Mobile helped a client spy on her husband, which she proudly shared in her TikTok.
“I helped a client find the phone number that her husband had been calling and writing to for the past few months,” says the description of the TikTok video created by user @lizzylizzyyy.
How the conversation between the store employee and the jealous wife took place is not shown in the video. However, it captures the joyful dance of a satisfied employee who “helped” her client.
This video raises a number of very serious questions. Firstly, do T-Mobile employees have the right to interfere in the personal lives of subscribers? Shouldn’t they be thinking about privacy first? Moreover, can they shoot and post videos about their interaction with customers? But the most important question is something else. Why does any employee of a telecom operator’s store have access to the metadata of subscribers’ phone calls?
Perhaps the woman and her husband had a common family account, and she simply asked a T-Mobile employee to make an extract on the latest actions. But it is also likely that she appealed to a sense of female solidarity and asked the girl to violate the company’s policies.
It is possible that the video is fake at all. After it was viewed by more than 175 thousand people, @lizzylizyyy suddenly stated the following: “Firstly, this is a joke, and this has never happened, and secondly, I didn’t say that I logged into someone else’s account, did I?”.
Comments on the video were divided. Some claimed that the girl violated the right to privacy by her actions, while others expressed a desire to use such a tempting “service” from a telecom operator.
Of course, T-Mobile was not happy with such actions of its employee. The company announced the existence of mechanisms to protect the information of its subscribers and is currently investigating the incident.
