The Swedish manufacturer of network cameras and surveillance systems Axis suffered from a cyber attack. The company had to shut down all public services around the world in hopes of limiting the impact of the attack.
According to Axis representatives, the investigation of the incident is still ongoing. So far, there is no evidence that any customer and partner data has been compromised. Experts managed to stop the attack before it was completed, limiting the potential damage.
The company announced the outages on Twitter, but did not respond to requests for comment. Axis also reported that its Case Insight tool in the United States and the Camera Station licensing system encountered partial failures.
The attack was first reported by IPVM. Axis has not said whether this is a ransomware attack.
